Why Isn't My Dialer Working?

This article will walk you through the common troubleshooting steps for when your dialer won't load, you are getting errors, or it is not working.


First things to check



## What type of device are you trying to load the dialer on?

You should be using a desktop computer or laptop. The dialer does not work on phones, tablets, or any mobile device.
## What browser are you using?

The dialer is built for Google Chrome. Using other browsers, like Firefox and Safari, is not recommended.
## Is your Chrome up to date?

If you're not sure, here's to how to check.

Have you tried logging out and back in?



We recommend logging out of Vortex at the end of your workday. Leaving the browser open overnight can cause you to miss important system updates.



## How many prospects are you trying to load?

The dialer performs best when loading no more than 1000 phone numbers in a single session. Excessive prospects in the session can cause your dialer to run slowly.

Step 1: Check your internet speed

You can test your internet speed here. Slower upload speeds (< 20 Mbps) can cause a slower experience. We recommend using a wired (Ethernet) connection if possible, as this provides you with a more stable (and often faster) internet connection.

Note: Even a fast connection can drop in connectivity when using a wireless network.



Step 2: Check your Chrome site settings



The dialer will need proper microphone and pop-up permissions to work correctly. Learn how to check these permissions here.

Step 3: Clear cache and cookies



To make sure your browser is running the most recent version of the dialer, you should clear cache and cookies for "all time" in the Chrome settings. Alternatively, you can try dialing from a new Incognito Window.
