How to Optimize your Dialer Experience

Description

To have the best experience using WAVV, you should match as many of these conditions as possible. If you are having any problems with your dialer, try these steps one at a time, seeing if that step resolves your problem.

This article includes chrome:// web pages that can't be accessed by just clicking them. These pages direct you to your browser settings. These links must be copied and pasted into your address bar.

Clickable URLs are underlined such as this one.

How many prospects you are trying to load?

If you are loading too many leads into your dialer at one time, it can freeze up the dialer and never load. We recommend only loading 1000 leads or less.

Your Browser and It's settings

We recommend using Google Chrome. If you are not using Google Chrome, download it here.

Make sure that Google Chrome is up to date

You can see if it is up to date by navigating to chrome://settings/help in the address bar. If there is an update, it will automatically download. When it is done, it will ask you to Relaunch Chrome.

Clear your Cache and Cookies

Cache and cookies are files stored by websites on your computer. Cache and cookies from other sites can interfere with the dialer. Navigate to chrome://settings/clearBrowserData to begin.

To clear your cache and cookies, make sure the "Time Range" is set to "All time."

Make sure "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files" is checked.

Once done, click "Delete data."

This will sign you out of most websites but will not clear saved passwords or your browsing history.

This may take a moment if you have never done this before. This popup will dismiss automatically once completed. Once this is done, close Vortex and try your dialer again.

Site Settings for Vortex

With Chrome, you must give websites permission for what they can use on your computer, like your camera, microphone, or location. This section will ensure that you have given Vortex adequate permissions for the dialer.

Most sites will ask you for permission the first time they would like to access that resource. The popup will look like this:

You should click "Allow on every visit" so that WAVV can use your microphone for each dial session.

If you just cleared your cache and cookies, you should try dialing again. This popup will appear.

If it still is not working, navigate to chrome://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https%3A%2F%2Fvortex.theredx.com and ensure the following by clicking the dropdown next to each corresponding permission:

Microphone: Allow

JavaScript: Allow

Pop-ups and redirects: Allow

If you needed to change any of these settings, make sure that you close Vortex and open it again before trying again.

Ensure Chrome is using the right microphone

Make sure that Chrome is listening for the right microphone by going to chrome://settings/content/microphone. Using the dropdown, select your preferred microphone.

Your Installed Browser Extensions

Extensions enhance the functionality of your browser. Some extensions can interfere with the dialer. We recommend disabling or uninstalling all installed extensions. You can manage your extensions by going to chrome://extensions/.

Use the highlighted switches to disable all of your extensions. Once they are all disabled, close Vortex and try your dialer again. If you need them after your dial session, re-enable them by flipping the switch again.

Your Computer

This section will go over settings and preferences on your computer, not your browser.

Headset Preferences

If you are using Computer Audio with your dialer, we recommend using a wired headset either through USB or a headphone jack. Wireless/bluetooth headsets or Apple's AirPods usually have problems with the dialer and are not recommended.

Once your headset is connected to your computer, ensure that it is selected in Chrome.

Your Internet Conditions

For the best experience, we recommend using a wired internet connection if possible. If a wired connection is not available, be close to your wireless router or access point.

A good test to know if you are having connection problems is if websites struggle to load everywhere, and not just the dialer.

If you are using a VPN, disable it. Using a VPN can introduce lag, delays, and connection instability.

Your Operating System

If you have a PC, you should use at least Windows 10. If needed, here is how you can update Windows.

If you have a Mac, you should use at least MacOS Catalina (10.15.7). If needed, here is how you can update MacOS.

If no updates are available, you may already be up to date, or no updates are compatible for your system.
